GOLD FILLED AND STAINLESS STEEL 

GOLD FILLED: Our 18K gold-filled hardware contains 100x more real gold than standard gold plating, it has a thick, legally regulated layer of real gold bonded to a base metal, making it far more durable and tarnish‑resistant, the layer of gold is mechanically bonded and must be at least 5% of the item’s weight, making it far richer in gold content than plating.Because the gold layer is much thicker, gold-filled jewellery is significantly more durable.
Gold-filled is generally safer for sensitive skin, as a substantial gold layer reduces contact to base metal.

Surgical stainless steel earrings are made from a high‑grade, low‑nickel steel designed for medical use, so they are extra safe for sensitive ears and everyday wear. They resist rust, tarnish, and discoloration, are strong enough not to bend out of shape easily, and are a practical, low‑maintenance alternative to precious metals for comfortable, long‑lasting earrings.

THE CLAY

“My jewellery is crafted with high‑quality polymer clays such as Cernit and Sculpey, which cure to a strong, long‑lasting finish while remaining light and comfortable to wear. These clays hold fine detail beautifully, making them ideal for textured, sculpted and colourful designs that won’t chip or crumble easily with normal use. Because polymer clay is lightweight compared to metal, even larger statement pieces stay comfortable for all‑day wear, giving you bold style without the heaviness.”

FINISHES

I seal my polymer clay designs with professional clear finishes such as Jdiction resin, Brite Tone and Sculpey varnish to protect the surface and enhance colour. These coatings create a smooth, durable finish that helps guard against everyday scratches and marks, while giving each piece a polished sheen. Using high‑quality, purpose‑made sealers means your jewellery keeps its look for longer, with vibrant colours and finishes that stay beautiful over time." I also like the look of earrings without varnish or resin so a lot of earrings are polished clay.
